Ranbir Kapoor REACTS To Sexist Reporting Around Alia Bhatt’s Pregnancy, ‘Any Kind Of Criticism Is Just Jealousy’
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are one of the most celebrated Bollywood couples. Recently the lovebirds announced their pregnancy and they are enjoying every bit of this phase. In a recent interview, the doting husband Ranbir reacted to the question asked about sexist reporting around his wife Alia’s pregnancy during the promotions of their film Brahmastra.

In a recent interaction with NDTV Alia Bhatt was quizzed about the sexist reporting around her pregnancy announcement, to which the ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ actor responded and said that she should be respected for the way she has carried herself, for her value system and the work she has done onscreen.

He was quoted saying, “One thing is clear and I'm not saying this because she's my wife. Alia in the history of Indian cinema is probably one of the most important actors there's ever been. The work she's done on screen or the kind of way she carries herself, the value system that she has and what she stands by, I haven't seen that strength in men or women and I think we should just respect that.”

The ‘Wake Up Sid’ actor continued and mentioned that everyone should take inspiration from her rather than criticize her and get jealous of her. He asserted, “I think the way she has carried herself through the entire marketing of this film being pregnant, being in the condition that she is - I think you should only be inspired by that. Any kind of criticism is just jealousy and mischief makers and stupidity and we should not take that seriously”

Earlier, the ‘Raazi’ actress lashed out at the reports which suggested that RK will fly down to London ‘to bring his wife home’ as she was shooting there post the announcement of a pregnancy. She had written, “Meanwhile in some people's heads, we still live in some patriarchal world...FYI. Nothing has gotten delayed. No one needs to pick anyone up. I am a woman not a parcel. I do not need to rest at all but good to know you'll have a doctor's certification as well. This 2022. Can we please get out of this archaic way of thinking.”

For the unversed, the Brahmastra couple announced their pregnancy in June, and the soon-to-be mother Alia has been constantly working since then. She completed her debut Hollywood project Heart of Stone starring Gal Gadot, wrapped up Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh, and promotions of Darlings and Brahmastra: Part One Shiva.
